Micah's students have designed and implemented stream and wetland restoration projects, conducted watershed monitoring experiments, initiated land stewardship and local food production programs, launched education and outreach initiatives, developed land management and municipal sustainability plans, and much more. His students have conducted projects for the US Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, High Country Conservation Advocates, Coldharbour Institute, Mountain Roots, Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory, private ranchers, and many other organizations.  Micah invests the time to provide quality mentoring, tailoring the educational journey to their aspirations and connecting students to opportunities for learning new and highly employable skillsets.  His students have gone on to work for state, federal and tribal governmental organizations, as well as a wide range of non-profit and entrepreneurial settings.
Western graduate students can be based in Gunnison or anywhere in the world. Please get in touch with Micah or [email protected] to learn more about joining our community of impactful environmental leaders and doers.  We are always willing to chat with you on campus, on the phone, or on zoom to determine if our programs align with your personal and professional objectives.
